CAOA STEAM PROGRAM
The CAOA STEAM Programming curriculum provides students with hands-on, project-based learning experiences that explore current environmental challenges and energy solutions. Students research both renewable and nonrenewable energy sources and apply Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) principles to develop innovative, environmentally friendly solutions that can positively impact their communities and the world.
❋ S – ScienceStudents investigate scientific concepts related to energy production, environmental sustainability, climate change, pollution, waste management, natural resources, and ecosystem health. They conduct research, analyze data, and explore how various energy sources affect the environment.
❋ T – TechnologyStudents utilize technology tools to gather information, conduct research, create presentations, design digital models, analyze data, and communicate their findings. They explore emerging technologies that support sustainable energy and environmental conservation.
❋ E – EngineeringUsing the engineering design process, students identify environmental problems, brainstorm solutions, develop prototypes, test ideas, evaluate results, and refine their designs. Students learn how engineers create practical solutions to real-world challenges.
❋ M – MathematicsStudents apply mathematical concepts to calculate energy consumption, efficiency, costs, measurements, environmental impact, data trends, and project feasibility. Mathematics helps students make informed decisions and support their solutions with evidence.
❋ A – ArtStudents incorporate creativity and design into their projects by developing visually appealing models, presentations, marketing materials, product designs, and prototypes. The artistic component encourages innovation, user-centered design, and effective communication of ideas.
